1What Giftory is

Giftory is an iOS app by Thomas A Johansen (Oslo, Norway) for remembering gifts. One thin string is strung through everyone you buy for; occasions pin it up, and gifts hang from them as paper tags. It has been on the App Store since 2020.

By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to everything these terms don't cover.

2Your content is yours

Every person, day, gift and idea you record belongs to you. It is stored on your iPhone, and I claim no rights to it. I also can't reach it: there is no account, no sync of mine and no server behind the app. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is stored and where.

You are responsible for what you write down about other people, and for keeping your device backed up.

3Giftory Plus

The app is free, and the whole of it works for up to five people. Giftory Plus lifts that limit and adds the ideas shelf. It comes four ways:

• Monthly$2.99 per month, no trial.
• Annual$14.99 per year, with a two-week free trial. The trial is offered on Annual only.
• Lifetime$29.99 once.
• Lifetime since 2020$9.99 once, offered by the app to anyone whose original download was the 2020 version. It is shown once, and lives in Settings after that.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, at the price shown in the app for your storefront.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
• A free trial applies once per Apple Account, and any unused trial time is forfeited when you buy.
• All four options support Apple Family Sharing.
• Restore purchases, in the app's Settings, re-checks your Apple Account — useful on a new iPhone.
• Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Only adding is ever gated. If Giftory Plus lapses, nothing is removed and nothing is locked: every person, gift and idea stays visible and editable. The app only asks when you add a sixth person or save a new idea.

4Tips

Settings offers optional tips of $0.99, $2.99 and $4.99 to people who already own Giftory Plus. They are a thank-you and nothing else: they unlock no features and change nothing in the app. Like any purchase they are charged to your Apple Account at confirmation, and refunds go through Apple.

5Fair use of the app

Don't use Giftory to store unlawful content, don't try to break, probe or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, and don't resell it. That's the whole list.

6Warranty and liability

Giftory is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of data.

Because Giftory keeps no cloud copy, your backup is the only copy besides the phone in your hand — please keep iCloud Backup on, or back your iPhone up to your computer. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

7Changes and governing law

These terms may be updated as the app evolves; material changes will appear on this page with a new effective date. They are governed by Norwegian law.
