Something come loose?

No. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to invent. Everything you record lives on your iPhone, so you can open the app and start adding people straight away.

One thin string runs through everyone you buy for. Occasions pin it up, and the gifts for that day hang from the pin as paper tags. A tag tells you where it stands by how it looks: dashed is an idea, tied is planned, filled is given.

The legend under the header names the parts if you'd rather read it than work it out.

Hold the string, slide along it to the date you want, and let go. A pin goes up there and you can name the day. The first time you see the garland, a small slip hanging from it says the same thing — it only appears once.

To check a pin later, hold it and its date appears.

The tape under the header. Drag it and the months tick past; a second after you let go it fades away, and it still works from wherever it was sitting. The Today chip brings you back to now whenever you've wandered off.

Add a person by typing a name, or tap Choose from Contacts to pick one from your address book. On first run Giftory offers a picker that lists the contacts who have a birthday, and imports only the ones you tick. They arrive with their name, their birthday and the picture on the card — nothing else is read.

If a birthday turns out to be wrong, correct it on the person and it moves along the string to its new place.

Birthdays hang themselves. Add the person, give them a birthday, and the day appears on the string — and repeats every year without being asked twice.

If you name a new day like a birthday, Giftory says so gently and points you at the person instead. There's an Add anyway if you really did mean a separate day.

No — one pin, with their faces stacked on it. The day holds everyone who's on it, and each person's gifts stay their own.

Tap a tag to open its card. It offers Add a gift, Add an idea and The day, which is where the date, the title and the notes live.

There's a quicker way once you know it: give a tag a short tug downwards — a little over twenty points — and let go. A gift attaches itself right there.

They're the life of a gift, in order. Dashed is an idea you're turning over. Tied is planned — you know what you're giving. Filled is given, and stays in the ledger as a record of what they got.

The shelf lip sits under the header; pull it down and the ideas you've saved are waiting on it. Ideas aren't tied to a date, so they keep until they're useful.

They come back on their own: open the person's day and the NEXT UP band offers up to two of their ideas to drag onto the pin. The ideas shelf is part of Giftory Plus.

Yes. A gift or an idea can carry a value alongside its title, its notes and a photo. All of those are optional — leave the value empty if you'd rather not keep score.

Nothing disappears and nothing locks. Every person, gift and idea stays visible and editable, exactly as you left it. Only adding is ever gated: the app asks when you go to add a sixth person or save a new idea.

There is: Lifetime since 2020, $9.99 once. The app offers it itself when it sees from the App Store that your original download was the 2020 version, so it only appears on a real install over that old copy — not in a fresh download, and not in a test build.

It's shown once, and after that it waits for you in Settings.

Cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends, or it renews. On a new iPhone, tap Restore purchases in the app's Settings and it re-checks your Apple Account.

Refunds are Apple's to give: reportaproblem.apple.com. A free trial is one per Apple Account, and unused trial time is forfeited when you buy.

In a database on your iPhone, and nowhere else. There's no iCloud sync and no server behind Giftory, so I hold no copy of your people or your gifts.

Your data does travel in your iPhone's own backup. A new phone picks Giftory up when you restore from an iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup, or transfer device to device — so back the old one up before you hand it on. Purchases come back with Restore purchases.

Delete any person, gift or idea inside the app. Deleting a person takes their days with them, birthdays included — that's the only way a birthday comes off the string.

Remove this day takes an occasion off the string for everyone on it and stops it repeating; gifts you already logged stay in the ledger, unfiled. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device.

Yes, and it changes shape rather than shrinking. At larger text sizes the garland becomes a list, so nothing has to be pinched at. Reduce Motion stills the string, the swing and the little ceremonies.

With VoiceOver, each day is read out with the people on it and where their gifts stand.

Giftory is made for iPhone, and the current release needs iOS 26 or later. It runs on iPad too, in its iPhone layout, and follows your system's light or dark appearance.
